Ordering tires direct is easy. first step is to start where even places like Discount Tires orders from when their regular supplier is out of stock. Discount Tires can't beat or even match the prices here go here now: Tire Rack The best way to be sure you get tires that are the correct size are look at the tires that are currently on your car, and write down the size that is shown on the tire. Then when you go to the site, put your mouse cursor over the Products button on the page. A drop down menu will appear now put your mouse over Tires, another menu appears, then click on Shop By Size. Here you enter your tire size that you got off the side of your tires, then click Proceed to Results There are many tires in the results, but you can sort the list based on what is important to you, which for most people they want a great performing tire that is going to last long at the best price. Here is how to get the longest lasting good performing tire. On the right hand side of the page you can sort results by Price, by selecting Price from the drop down menu. The page will automatically refresh with the results resorted. At this point if your goal is to get a tire that has long tread life. Look at the number called "UTQG" which is listed in each summary of each tire. The higher the number the longer the treadlife. The cheapest tire, a lot of times, is not the best deal. In the example that I am currently looking at the cheapest tire is $61, the UTQG rating is 360 AA A. This is a high performance tire, rated for speeds in excess of 115 MPH, and excelent traction in hard cornering, but do you drive like that? You probably shouldn't, but if you do you that may be a good tire for you, if you don't it is not a good value. It only has a 40,000 mile treadlife Down the list I see there is a tire that has a rating of 640 A B This means that it has the 2nd best rating for cornering, and handles speeds up to 115MPH but not over, when is the last time you went 115MPH let alone over 115MPH? I think I hit 118 MPH once, it once on a long straighaway in the middle of no where, and it was a little scary, there's no need for it, unless your racing legally or robbing banks(illegally of course) This tire costs $68 per tire, and it has a treadlife of 85,000. A much better value in my opinion for only $7 more per tire. Even when you go to sell your car, if you still have a lot of treadlife left, that will add to the value. After you select the tire which you think is best for your needs, you add them to your cart. That will take you to your cart, and you can select Begin checkout The best value for your money I have found is Kumho tires, with a high UTQG rating Next you will enter your zip code, and select your shipping option, they can be delivered in as little as 1 business day. Next you need to find the best place to get them installed, which is also easy. You'll see a link up top that says Installation...Click that. This will bring you a full selection of installers in your area. They have different prices based on your tires aspect ratio size, that is the middle number in your tire size. You can look through the list and find the shop with the best deal |
